Current Status
Status
The Cultural Commons Collecting Society SCE mit beschränkter Haftung (C3S SCE) has been a European Cooperative since its registration in the Düsseldorf Register of Cooperatives on March 28, 2014.
However, in order to become active as a collecting society, an application for admission as a collecting society must be submitted to the DPMA (German Patent and Trademark Office) and confirmed.
The C3S cannot, may not and will not exercise any rights for authors before the DPMA has granted it the necessary permission to act as a collecting society. Currently, the C3S is not a collecting society and cannot negotiate or conclude any contracts.
Outlook
The application for admission as a german collecting society will be submitted to the DPMA as soon as possible. After a first legal examination of the new requirements of the DPMA, which have resulted from the VGG, the C3S team is working under high pressure to finalize the application documents.
More importantly, we need the support of all authors who are willing to join the C3S after their admission. Your membership is necessary to prove not only the demand for such a collecting society, but also the economic viability of the C3S. This is one of the most important requirements to be admitted by the DPMA.
Be part of it!
You and your works are the core and form the most valuable part of the business model that C3S will file with the DPMA to prove the stability and feasibility of the collecting society. You are the collecting society – but not a traditional one.
Subscribe to the newsletter now (right column on this page) to make sure that you don’t miss any of our actions – and that we reach you when the countdown starts.
It is your project. You can decide how your work will be used and how your rights will be exercised. Be a part of it!
